Remembering your dreams is a habit that can be cultivated, and with practice, dreams can easily be recalled and recorded.

The following tips can help you remember your dreams. Before you go to sleep, say to yourself ‘Tonight, I will remember my dreams’. The more you try and consciously remember your dreams, then the more likely you will be to do so.

If you find it difficult to remember specific dream imagery at first, try and remember any dream fragments, or the emotions you felt as you woke.It is useful to have a small table beside your bed where you can keep a dream diary and a pen to record your dreams when you wake up.

If you have a tolerant sleeping partner, you can set your alarm to go off about two hours after you usually fall asleep. There is a good chance you will awaken immediately after your first dreaming cycle of the night.

Try not to get out of bed immediately upon waking. Lie relaxed with your eyes closed, and allow your remembered dream imagery and emotions to return.
