Car Park Spaceship
Hi Ian,
It is always the same dream but different car parks. I go looking for my car and hunt for ages never finding it. The only thing I can find is a little silver spaceship. I know it will take me where I want to go but I don’t have the ignition key or know how to work the controls.
Thanks, Nazhat

When we dream about our own car, we are usually thinking about our personal ambitions and what motivates and drives us in our waking lives. The car parks in your dream indicate that you have had to park your own ambitions for a while so that you could go and attend to some other activities in your life.

Although you now have the time and opportunity to get your ambitions back into gear, you seem to have lost your drive. You are trying to get yourself motivated again but you are not feeling satisfied or excited at any of the opportunities that you have been exploring. The only vehicle that you can find for your ambitions is something that seems totally alien to you.

You know this opportunity will take you where you want to go but you are unsure of the best way to get it started. You are also are anxious about launching yourself in this direction because you are  concerned that you will find it difficult to control the outcome once your ideas begin to take off. However, the only way to find out is to use whatever method you can to travel into your own future.

Stag Party
Dream takes place in a room similar to a dining room. There’s a large wooden table in the middle of the room and on the far side of the table there stands a stag with large antlers. Slowly the stag begins to grin at me and then starts to make its way around the table towards me. By this time the grin has become quite menacing and I am feeling frightened. Eventually the stag catches up with me and I start wrestling with it. Then I wake up shouting and kicking.
Eric

Dreaming of a table suggests that you are considering your social connections with other people and the habits and routines that you have formed in your relationships with them. The dining table shows that you are thinking about how this large network of people helps to fulfill your needs and ensures that you have steady and solid support in your everyday life.

Although you have a great deal of encouragement from your friends and acquaintances, you are unsure of your perceived status within your social network. The stag indicates that you would like to be seen as the leader of the group and to have this position reflected in your social status. To begin with, the thought of being the leader of your group is something that makes you happy and you start to get used to the idea.

However, the reality of actually holding this position makes you very anxious and it’s something that you really begin to struggle with. Even though you want others to accept you as the strong individual who is at the centre of their group, you need to start by honestly accepting your own strengths and weaknesses. This honesty will naturally attract people towards you.

Derelict Schools
Hi Ian,
I keep having recurrent bad dreams about haunted schools. These would be schools in streets that I was familiar with – including one recurrent nightmare in my secondary school where I am trying to find a lost love letter. The school buildings in the dreams always appear partially destroyed and derelict or ruined and neglected.
Lynn

When we dream about a school, we are often reflecting on what we have learned in our lives and the value of those experiences. The haunted schools suggest that there is an important lesson from your life that you have either forgotten, or are just ignoring. This is emphasised by the fact that the school buildings always appear derelict or neglected.

Although you are neglecting this fundamental life lesson in everyday life, you know deep down what you really need to do. As well as academic study, some of the key lessons that people learn in secondary school are often about their romantic connections with other people. The issue that is troubling you is likely to be a recurrent and destructive pattern that ruins your romantic relationships.

You probably neglected your own needs in your first schoolgirl romances because you were very keen to be loved and accepted by the object of your affections. However, this usually leads to a situation in adult life where you become clingy and needy, rather than enjoying your independence and establishing clear boundaries with your partner. Until you begin to clearly express your needs, this old pattern will keep coming back to haunt you.
